- Benjamin Vanhook LOCATION: Start in Brodhead, KY at the intersection of Route #150 and Route #1505. Go west on #150 .3 mile to road on right called Brodhead Chestnut Ridge Road. Turn right on Brodhead Chestnut Ridge Road and go 3.6 miles to a farm lane beside Bowman Branch. Turn right onto farm lane. Take lane up the hill .8 mile to marker in the hill-top field.

- “VANHOOK CEMETERY – The site of about 30 graves of Revolutionary to Civil War era pioneers. Their endeavors, historic adventures, and hardships paved the way for us. Erected 1981 by Vanhook descendants. The only remaining legible monument in 1972.” (an old stone with the following information was embedded in the new granite marker)
